The Washington State Hemp Commission (WSHC) is a non-governmental, international trade organization established to develop and promote a thriving new industrial hemp industry here in Washington State, and around the world.
The WSHC is striving to boost local and global economic growth through the promotion, expansion, and development of new innovations that will provide a wide range of sustainable, eco-friendly employment opportunities.
The WSHC promotes continued scientific advancement in the fields of phytoremediation, agriculture, organic food products, alternative fuels, as well as countless other new bio-sustainable industries.
The WSHC is working closely with farmers, government officials, and the research community to establish hemp standards, seed certification and industrial hemp regulations in Washington State.
By promoting advanced genetics development and establishing free trade in seed cultivars, we will help to insure an ever increasing source of new hemp seed production to meet the worldwide needs of both new hemp industries and the farmers that will supply them.
We are seeking to establish worldwide networking opportunities between farmers, processors, manufacturers, scientists, engineers, and universities, as well as establishing cooperation with indigenous populations and nations around the world.
Our aim is to educate the farming community, industry, legislators and the public about the health, environmental, and economic benefits of industrial hemp.
We are actively promoting private investment and joint venture opportunities in the hemp industry, both in the United States and internationally. This is an exciting new industry, and we’re proud to be part of it.
